Welcome to Celyn Polocrosse Club
Polocrosse is a fantastic sport played on horseback over a field roughly the same size as a rugby pitch. Two teams of six
play alternate 'chukkas' in sections of three players per side. This allows the horses time to rest between their playing chukkas, as unlike polo
the rules only permit you to play one horse throughout a tournament.
Celyn Club is based at the Horticultural College in Northop, North Wales, with summer training grounds at Mollington, Chester. We have a thriving membership, with players in nearly every grade
from Juniors right up to A division. Our players come from Wales, Cheshire, the Wirral and even as far afield as Yorkshire!
A number of our members have played internationally, representing both Wales and the UK at Junior, Under 21 and Open levels.
Celyn players have been part of the UK team in every Polocrosse World Cup since it began in 2003.
As a club we are affiliated with the UK Polocrosse Association (UKPA) who organise many tournaments and training camps
throughout the year. See the UKPA website for further information.
